Memory, Technique, Place
Brazilian-born chef Leandro Silva first cooked beside his mother as a child, helping her make savoury pastries. Years later, after moving to Portugal and starting in restaurant kitchens from the very bottom, he built his path through hotels, Lisbon restaurants and advanced training. He holds a Master’s degree in Cooking: Technique, Product and Creativity from the Basque Culinary Center in San Sebastián and trained at Michelin-starred Maruja Limón in Vigo. At DUOO, he uses technique, market produce and Brazilian memory to create food shaped by Portimão, Portugal and Latin America.
“Cooking is authorship: creativity and technique in service of memory, place and the people at the table.”

DUOO Gastro Theatre
DUOO Gastro Theatre is an intimate restaurant in the historic centre of Portimão, close to TEMPO Municipal Theatre. With only 12 seats around a Japanese-inspired counter, guests sit directly in front of the fully open kitchen and watch Leandro Silva and Catarina Monteiro cook each course. The name reflects the concept: DUOO refers to the chefs as partners in life and work, while Gastro Theatre captures the live, detailed nature of the experience. It is precise, immersive and warm, built for diners who enjoy seeing the craft behind the plate.
