Rodesand is the culinary flagship of Hotel Gut Immenhof in Malente, set inside the estate’s historic manor house near Kellersee. Outside, the building keeps its classic estate architecture; inside, it feels modern, natural and carefully designed. Interior architect Dena Rawle drew from the surrounding landscape, using lake blue, forest green and golden accents throughout the rooms. Guests can choose a menu or à la carte dishes, with views towards the riding grounds or the lake. The restaurant brings together estate history, seasonal cooking and a warm fine-dining atmosphere for couples, families and hotel guests.

Northern Comfort Cooking
The kitchen at Rodesand focuses on creative feel-good cuisine with strong craft behind it. Fish and vegetables play an important role, supported by seasonal thinking and long-term regional partners. Products come from the surrounding lakes, the North Sea and Baltic Sea, vegetable growers in Eutin and the Altes Land. The menu includes dishes such as North German bouillabaisse, handmade pasta and grilled turbot, alongside more ambitious fish and vegetarian plates. Patrick Kühn and his team build flavour through quality, clear combinations and a direct link to northern Germany.

Rodesand Genussreise
Rodesand hosts culinary events that explore specific ingredients, regions and styles in more detail. The Genussreise evenings focus on themes such as seafood, truffle or sushi, paired with selected winemaker wines and Champagne. The team adds context during the evening, sharing insights, tips and techniques around the speciality and region being served. For a slower afternoon in the manor house, Rodesand also offers teatime, especially on Saturdays and Sundays. These formats give guests more than one way to experience the restaurant beyond a regular lunch or dinner.

Holstein Switzerland Setting
Gut Immenhof lies by Kellersee in Holstein Switzerland, surrounded by green pastures, water and gentle northern landscapes. The estate is strongly tied to German film history, having served as a setting for the well-known Immenhof films. Today, the surroundings still shape the feeling of the place: ponies in the fields, lake views, nature moments and a calm rural rhythm. From Rodesand, guests can connect dinner with a stay on the estate, time outdoors, riding activities or a relaxed break by the water.

Design from the Landscape
Rodesand’s interior is one of its strongest details. The manor house setting gives the restaurant a historic frame, while the modern design keeps it fresh and elegant. Dena Rawle used the colours of the surrounding nature throughout the space: blue for the lake, green for the forests and gold for sunlight. The main room has seven tables, complemented by private dining spaces for smaller groups. In summer, the manor house terrace becomes a natural choice for dinner, with views over greenery and the estate.

Three Kitchens at Gut Immenhof
Gut Immenhof brings together several culinary spaces under one estate philosophy. Rodesand offers the refined manor house experience, while the wider estate also includes the Hofküche and Jantzens Bar with a cigar lounge, where sushi is served. Each kitchen has its own character, but they share the same attitude: authentic, regionally connected and driven by good craft. For guests staying at the hotel, this creates a broader culinary stay, moving from fine dining to more relaxed formats without leaving the estate.
