Chef Tomaž Kavčič, the pioneer of the slow-food cuisine in Slovenia, is the fourth generation at restaurant Pri Lojzetu, situated in the Zemono Manor house from 17th century, Vipavska valley. He loves to create dishes with simplicity, respect for tradition and basic seasonal fresh quality ingredients of the region and with personal care for the guests. You can still order the traditional horseradish spread and homemade bread, which diners have loved for centuries. But chef Tomaž also offers a competely new interpretation of the traditional slovenian cuisine. Each season reflects the chef’s passion, talent, intelligence and culinary ideas, which are distinctive and innovative. From best local products chef Tomaž creates homely, but  exqusite dishes with authentic flavours and aromas, that become well-known in no time, such as salt-grill, bear cheek, gin tonic with juniper aroma, unfinished strudel and many others.

The Gostilna pri Lojzetu restaurant is housed in an exquisite 17th-century Palladian building on the hill above the village of Zemono in Vipava valley and offers an excellent combination of exclusive contemporary Slovene cuisine and genuine rural hospitality. Chef's cooking styles range from simple to traditional, but all his dishes look like true works of art. There are à la carte, set meal and different testing menu options, with many innovative approaches to traditional dishes. A popular venue for weddings, the manor Zemono also hosts other private events. Pri Lojzetu's extensive wine list boasts over 700 different wines, which have been carefully collected from both Slovene and foreign wineries.
