From Seminary to Gastronomy
Chef Stjepan Vukadin cooks with deep respect for Dalmatian tradition, shaped into a modern Mediterranean style that keeps flavour pure and ingredients front and centre. Born in 1993, his path into gastronomy was unexpected: he entered a seminary at 14 before choosing the kitchen as his vocation. Today he is known both for his work at il Ponte and as a MasterChef Croatia judge since 2020. Recognised by Michelin and Gault and Millau, he is relentless about sourcing fresh fish and local produce.
"I cook Dalmatian the way I know it, with respect for the ingredients and a lot of heart.”
il Ponte
il Ponte is a contemporary Mediterranean restaurant in the heart of Trogir, set right beside the bridge linking the modern city to the UNESCO-listed old town. The cooking reimagines Dalmatian tradition with seasonal, local ingredients and clean, refined flavours. Inside you’ll find an elegant dining room, while outside there’s a glazed terrace and a generous summer courtyard with views of the sea canal and historic stonework. It’s polished, but not stiff, and designed around pace, warmth and detail.
