MEET OUR SMALL PRODUCERS

From 2022, we started a new project to bring the JRE association closer to local producers in order to introduce them to our chefs, taste their products and eventually be part of the menu in our JRE-Croatian family restaurants.

Karlic Tartuffs

Grandfather, mother, grandchildren and dogs.

Today's activities of the Karlić family of truffle growers from Paladin, near Buzet, were started by Mr. Ivan Rašpolić in 1966.

The Motovun Forest was much larger then than it is today. The white and black truffles found in that area were considered the best quality truffles in Istria.

Although one of the most generous sites was – at the bottom of Lake Butoniga today!

The long-standing experience of the Karlić family in picking truffles, which was passed down from generation to generation, resulted in the establishment of the company GIR d.o.o. in 1994, which devotes itself with great dedication to "truffle hunting", buying and selling fresh and frozen truffles and processing and marketing them on the domestic and foreign markets. Allow us to introduce you to our treasure - the truffle, a gastronomic delicacy in all its forms.

Beef Shop

Our specialized company was founded with the aim of bringing the secrets of beef fermentation closer to the everyday table. Our wish is to present the masterful skills of the ancient butcher's trade with our assortment of fermented beef steaks from various parts of the world and thereby contribute to the creation of both a true gourmet experience and the achievement of optimal health.

Miso Pešić, owner of the company

Nutrition represents the most complex, deepest and most sophisticated relationship between man and nature. Certainly one of the biggest and most complex temptations, if not the biggest in the phenomenon of human nutrition, is animal meat, so it is not difficult to understand why there are so many different and contradictory concepts. Time has defined that beef meat, as a secondary food, becomes compatible with the principles of human nutrition exclusively through the phenomenon of meat fermentation.

Due to the essential values of iron for the human body, fermented beef meat, fed with natural organic grasses, certainly represents the highest range of all the world's serious butcher institutions.

Orehovec

We are a family farm from Veliki Bukovac near Ludbreg. Veliki Bukovec is a small town in Podravina located along three rivers: Drava, Bednja and Plitvica. We have been breeding poultry on our farm for many years. From the very beginning, we have nurtured a natural way of raising poultry, which increases the quality of the meat and contributes to the well-being of the animals.

The management of grain production enables us to fully control the food consumed by the poultry, and in cooperation with animal experts, the animals are provided with a diet rich in all the elements necessary for proper growth and development, while taking care of the health and safety of the animals. We process poultry meat in our own slaughterhouse and distribute it through our own butchers, trading houses and other butchers.

Old Pilot's Gin

What started simply as a friendship and an exciting hobby of two young pilots turned into a joint venture and life commitment. Our big dream has finally come true through a small artisan distillery where everything from distillation to bottling and packaging is done by our own hands.

A PASSION FOR FLYING IN COMBINATION WITH A FEAR FOR THE BEST AND HIGHEST QUALITY DRINKS INSPIRED TWO PILOTS TO OPEN THE CROATIAN MICRO DISTILLERY "GENTLE IN A BOTTLE" AND CREATE SOMETHING SPECIAL.

OLD PILOT'S GIN, THEIR SPECIAL LONDON DRY GIN, IS DISTILLED FROM A SELECTION OF COMPLETELY NATURAL, CROATIAN PLANTS SUCH AS PINE, ORANGE, LAVENDER, SAGE AND OLIVE LEAF.

EACH BOTTLE IS CAREFULLY HAND FILLED AND PACKAGED AND AGED USING THE WORLD'S ONLY MADE IN HEAVEN GIN RECIPE.

Spirit in a bottle distillery is focused on the production of drinks of the highest quality. Our process, the plants we use and the unique distillation technology allow us the highest standards of purity and fullness of flavor. We are not a large-capacity distillery and the whole process is decorated with "manual work". Distillation, aging, filling, labeling, sealing with wax..., high quality, consistent and authentic. No compromise.

We are sure that there is a cheaper way of producing alcoholic beverages. Extracts, faster distillation, fewer plants, less separation..., that's not us. We use only the "heart" of distillation, separating bad alcohols at the beginning and end of the distillation process. We are proud of every bottle that has passed through our hands, as well as the production process that guarantees the premium quality of the drink - every time.

Outstanding quality, unique flavors, local authenticity and creation without compromise are the main reasons to be proud of every bottle that comes out of our cauldron.

Brewery Zmajska

Zmajska pivovara was created in 2013 as a result of a long-standing passion for premium beer. As craft pioneers in Croatia, proud of our homebrew roots, we nurture independence, creativity and innovation in brewing beer.

Each beer of Zmajska pivovara is the result of masterful skill, top quality ingredients, boundless imagination, daring creativity, authentic craft living and an unquenchable desire to share our passion for top quality beer with you and introduce you to the world of incredible combinations of flavors and aromas.

We are happy that - through beers of classic styles and specials - we can offer you beer that we ourselves like to drink.

Taman Chocolates

The internationally award-winning TAMAN chocolates are produced in our small Malo&Slatko manufactory, where we cultivate an author's approach by creating authentic, individual and unique flavors... In our work, we want to go beyond the usual framework and create something that will be new and exciting, individual and unique - we strive to achieve a balance in opposites, harmony between contrasts, achieve harmony between the precision of perfectionism and unrestrained creativity.

How did we start? After years of (excessive) enjoyment, research and education, driven by pure hedonism and the pleasure that chocolate gives us, in 2015. we started the Malo&Slatko artisanal chocolatier factory, where we develop innovative gourmet chocolates and pralines based on top-quality couverture chocolates, unusual but perfectly coordinated flavor combinations with which we have won a number of international awards over the years.

In addition to the production of premium gourmet chocolates and pralines, we also launched a series of educational workshops and programs with the aim of raising awareness of the quality of chocolate on the domestic market, and in 2020 we are launching our own micro production of chocolate from cocoa beans, the so-called "Bean-to-Bar" chocolates, in order to ensure control in as many stages as possible in the chocolate production process. This gives us more freedom in creation and strengthens our authentic authorial expression. The first nano series of TAMAN Bean-to-Bar chocolates immediately received international recognition, which gave impetus to the further development of TAMAN Bean-to-Bar production.

Marfish

MarFish is a company that grows, transports and sells indigenous Adriatic fish, and the story dates back to 1994, when we started working. Over the years, MarFish has grown into a leader in fish production in the Premium segment. The special pride of our production today is large sea bass, a unique fish of exceptional quality, especially suitable for culinary connoisseurs.

Our farm is located on the western side of the Adriatic island of Iža, in the immediate vicinity of the Kornati National Park.

A small family business with a dozen employees in production itself, headed by Nada and Željko Martinović, and our strong distribution forces in Zagreb: sisters Andrea, PhD in veterinary medicine, and Dora, graduate student in economics and entrepreneurship.

After 27 years of working in mariculture, we have focused on only one product that is the pinnacle of quality and incomparable to any other product. Growing several types of fish and looking for ourselves in that story, we decided to make a unique, premium product on the market that will be recognized, in contrast to industrial intensive farming, which aims in the shortest possible time, reducing production costs - to make a mediocre quality product.

For the sake of the best possible quality of fish, the density of fish in breeding cages is significantly lower compared to industrial breeding, and we can boast the lowest density of breeding fish per cage volume. Space is a very important factor for the quality of fish, lower density in breeding cages for fish means a higher proportion of natural food, and enables better and healthier development.

The position of the farm in the passage between the islands, which is the natural habitat of sea bass, so in extremely strong currents of the sea, results in an extremely high-quality structure of muscle tissue in the fish.

Stone

History and nature are constant inspirations in everything we do. The packaging of our yogurts is inspired by the landscape that surrounds us. The winding roads of the surrounding villages and the Krka National Park, the hills that lead to the interior of Croatia and untouched pastures.

We chose Pleter from the ancient Croatian culture for Šiat, a premium cheese made from raw milk that was created on our heritage. Five years ago, with a lot of optimism and the will to work, we set off into agricultural waters, starting with a small herd of 100 sheep. This happened at a time when more and more people were giving up sheep farming, herds were being reduced, so in just seven years in the area of Šibenik-Knin County, 170 of them gave up breeding.

We learned about agriculture "along the way", we fought to get water, we waited 4 years for the title deed, but we didn't give up. In the beginning, we sold our milk, cooperated with Paški cheese, and then it was time to turn our wish into reality. We currently have 520 Dalmatian sheep, which are grazed every day of the year, and the production is ecological. These figures place us among the largest growers in the county, something we are very proud of. Two years ago, we built a mini cheese factory in order to produce our own cheeses, yogurt and milk from sheep's milk.
