Kyra van der MeerManager Kyra van der Meer grew up in a family that worked in catering, which introduced her to the hospitality industry very early on. After studying at the Hotel Management School in Amsterdam she had three impressive internships, which led her to start working full-time at Senses restaurant. Today, she balances her time between The Albus Hotel, restaurant Senses, and Brasserie Bakboord, as an assistant director of these three amazing companies.

Senses’ cuisine
At Senses, your sense of tasting will get spoiled. Diners can choose between a 4- to 6-course dinner with exquisite dishes by the chef, paired with excellent wines by the sommelier. Some favorite favorites include the lamb fillet that almost melts in your mouth, thickened with bacon and exceptionally tasty. And the watermelon tartare, with parfait of piccalilli and Belfort cheese. The watermelon has been dried, and then processed through the tartar mill. This way, it has a unique appearance similar to tartare. It is no surprise the delicious and inventive cuisine at Senses has been awarded 14 Gault Millau points and 2 toques. The culinary style of the chef spans many aspects: classic, modern, as well as international. It is the seasons, the daily fresh ingredients, and the varied nationalities of his kitchen team that inspire him. The creativity of the chef is evident in the presentation, the diverse textures and in the unexpected combinations of flavours in his cooking. Matching the taste and presentation of the dishes with the wine, the chef aims for a surprise-effect that surpasses every gourmet’s expectations.
