St. Georgen an der Leys is a small town in the north of Lower Austria, located in the Mostviertel, a welcoming, hilly area ideal for all forms of relaxation. The highest mountain here is 948 meters (Statzberg). The Melk river also originates here and flows into the Danube at the town of the same name (with an impressive abbey). For hikers, the Erlaufschlucht is a picturesque destination, and the 12th-century Plankenstein castle also leaves a fascinating impression.
