Sascha Stemberg

Sascha Stemberg is chef at restaurant Haus Stemberg. Following his culinary training at Gasthof Kuhs in Heiligenhaus, he worked at several restaurants throughout Germany, including Hummerstübchen, Confiserie Maushagen, and the Hotel Paradis in Mauritius. In 2014, Sascha became the owner of his family's restaurant Haus Stemberg. Here, his cuisine uses only the best products from the Velbert region, a method his father had created before him. His delicious modern German cuisine has been awarded a coveted Michelin star.

Haus Stemberg’s cuisine

The combination of traditional dishes and contemporary cuisine à la top chef Sascha Stemberg makes restaurant Haus Stemberg one of the most popular culinary addresses in the region. It’s no wonder his excellent cuisine awarded the restaurant with a prestigious Michelin star. Specialties on the menu include the exquisite rack of lamb and braised leg with a warm vegetable salad, couscous, herbs and salted lemon; and for those with a sweet tooth, the gelled champagne stock with verbena, whipped vanilla cream and raspberry sorbet. If you fancy a glass of wine, you’ll find a number of rarities on the extensive wine menu to complete your gastronomic experience.

Velbert surroundings

The inn is situated in the town of Velbert, located in the district of Mettmann in the state of North-Rhine-​Westphalia. The town is famous for its production of locks and fittings, so a visit to the Lock and Fitting Museum is in order. Other interesting sights in the area include the historic old town of Langenberg (2.5 km), the Mariendom church in Wallfahrtsort Velbert-Neviges (2 km), and the nearby cities of Wuppertal, Essen, and Düsseldorf.
