Wilford T

Dining Among Art

Wilford T has welcomed guests to the Wilfordkaai in Temse since 1 June 2016. Set in a listed townhouse by the Scheldt, the restaurant brings gastronomy and contemporary art together through its close connection with art platform Wilford X. Inside, the room is sober and clean-lined, with a central open kitchen and works by Belgian and international artists. Chef Tom Vermeiren and his wife Delphine have built a restaurant where product, hospitality and art share the same space, turning dinner into something personal, precise and visually distinctive.

Product, Sauce, Season

Tom Vermeiren’s cooking is built around the product, with seasonal ingredients, fresh influences and deep, intense sauces. His style is gastronomic, but the flavours stay direct and recognisable. He lets the main ingredient speak, then adds depth through original combinations and careful finishing. Some dishes are completed at the table, bringing the chef closer to the guest and adding a sense of immediacy to the meal. The result is a young, refreshing kitchen shaped by craft, curiosity and a strong belief in flavour before decoration.

Wilford X and 360° Art

Wilford T works in close symbiosis with Wilford X, the art platform connected to the restaurant. Under the motto “Dining between Art”, Wilford X brings together art lovers who organise qualitative, distinctive activities free from commercial pressure. Guests can visit 360° Kunst during the restaurant’s opening hours, making art a natural part of the visit. The exhibitions give the clean, slightly industrial interior a changing character, while the restaurant gives the artworks a lived-in setting where people meet, eat and take time to look.

Temse by the Scheldt

Temse is a riverside town in the Waasland region, set along the Scheldt and known for its waterfront, regional food traditions and views of the Temsebrug, Belgium’s longest bridge. The area combines industrial history with nature, from the former Boelwerf shipyard, now transformed into a residential marina, to walking and cycling routes near Fort van Steendorp and the Scheldeschorren tidal marshes. Wilford T’s location on the quay makes it well suited to a relaxed lunch or dinner with the river close by.

Service With Care

The atmosphere at Wilford T is shaped by more than the room and the food. Tom Vermeiren and his team are known for warm, attentive service, with Tom and his father both helping to frame the dishes in a personal way. The restaurant also gained a terrace along the quay, adding another reason to visit when the weather allows. Wilford T carries several culinary networks too, including Flanders Kitchen Rebels, Young Mastercooks of Belgium and Jong Keukengeweld.

“Exceptional kitchen quality, gastronomy at the highest level, and warm service.”
