Chef Giambattista Manzini
Chef Giambattista Manzini, known as “Titta”, started cooking young and trained in respected Italian kitchens before opening RistoFante in 1992. His way of working is practical and disciplined: early mornings for the best fresh ingredients, then a full day in the kitchen refining the details. He cooks with a strong link to local produce and the rhythm of the seasons, and he keeps Bergamo tradition in view while adapting it for modern appetites. The goal stays simple: cook well, stay honest, and meet guests with food that feels alive.
“I wake up early for the ingredients. If they’re right, the dish is already halfway there.”
RistoFante
Restaurant RistoFante in Alzano Lombardo is run by chef Giambattista “Titta” Manzini and Silvia Valoti, who have been building the restaurant together since 1992. After seven years in Ponteranica, they moved in 1999 and restored an old building in Val Seriana, creating welcoming dining rooms for winter and a garden for summer evenings. The focus is on quality and maximum freshness, chosen day by day. Titta’s cooking keeps local traditions close, then lightens them for today, so the meal stays familiar, current and generous.
