Chef Mauro Uliassi

Chef Mauro Uliassi grew up in Senigallia surrounded by hospitality, with family stories that began in trattorie and a coffee shop where he learned how guests want to be treated. He first studied industrial engineering, then moved into hospitality school and worked between bars, hotels and restaurant kitchens before returning as a teacher. Cooking became personal when he started cooking for the woman who would become his wife, and it turned into a life project in 1990 when he opened Uliassi with his sister Catia on the waterfront. Today, his work is defined by curiosity, research and an Adriatic point of view.

Uliassi Restaurant sits beside the sea in Senigallia, where the harbour channel meets the beach. What started in 1990 as a small waterfront spot has grown into one of Italy’s best-known restaurants, still run with the same family energy by Mauro Uliassi and his sister Catia. The dining rooms look out to the water, with a terrace that becomes part of the experience in warmer months. Hospitality is direct and personal, built on a long history of welcoming people in Senigallia, and on a team that has grown with the restaurant.
