Wolfgang Kerschbaumer’s cooking is defined by focus and range. Trained through years in gourmet and starred restaurants, he later ran the restaurant at Ansitz zum Steinbock in Villandro for 13 years before opening La Passion with his wife Helena in 2003. He cooks alone in a five-square-metre kitchen, preparing each dish to order and moving confidently between starters, fish, meat and desserts. His style is classic modern with a Mediterranean imprint, guided by seasonality, fresh ingredients, and a preference for regional produce.

La Passion

La Passion is a small, family-run gourmet restaurant in Vandoies di Sopra, at the start of Val Pusteria. Open since 2003, it is hosted by Wolfgang and Helena Kerschbaumer in a 16th-century farmhouse Stube with just five tables. Guests ring the doorbell and step into a place that feels more like a private home than a formal dining room. In summer, the Stube opens onto a small garden for aperitifs and outdoor dining. The experience is personal, warm, and built on detail.
