Emilia meets Campania
JRE chef Ciro Sieno cooks Italian cuisine with two clear anchors: the flavours he grew up with in Naples and the produce, techniques and discipline he developed in Emilia. The result is regional, precise cooking with a contemporary finish, built on strong bases and clean seasoning. Bread and leavened products are part of his identity, shaped through dedicated training and years of repetition. The menu is seasonal, with both tasting routes and à la carte, updated around every three months to keep the kitchen sharp and the ingredients at their best.
Whisky and wine
Enigma has a strong drinks culture, led by restaurant manager Giulia Mazza together with the team. The wine list supports the kitchen’s regional mix, and wine pairings are designed to follow the seasonal menus. A second focus is whisky: the dining rooms hold an extensive collection, built over decades, that gives the place its own personality and a clear point of difference for guests who enjoy spirits as much as wine. If you’re planning a business dinner or a celebration, the setting makes it easy to keep the evening structured, relaxed, and well paced.
In central Reggio
Enigma restaurant sits in the heart of Reggio Emilia, in a hotel set within a centrally located park. The view from the large windows is green and open, which is rare for a city-centre address and changes the feel of the room straight away. The separate entrance keeps arrivals discreet, and the location works well if you want an elegant dinner without leaving town, or you’re meeting colleagues and prefer a setting that stays calm and focused. It is a practical base for Reggio Emilia, with the comfort of a hotel and a destination restaurant in one.
A personal collection
The room tells you a lot about the people behind it. Giulia Mazza chose the name Enigma, and the idea carries through in the details: art on the walls, a long-held whisky collection, and a menu that links two regions without turning it into a concept piece. It feels considered and individual, built from real choices.
