Restaurant G.a.

Restaurant G.a.., housed in guesthouse Manoir de Rétival, is the culinary playground of chef and sommelier David Goerne. Here, you’re invited to observe how the chef works his magic. The lavish interior and green surroundings of this fine-dining destination are a great backdrop for your gastronomic experience, whether you’re munching on your meal in the dining room, on the terrace, or at the chef’s table which is right in the restaurant’s kitchen. Chef David’s terroir-based dishes are refined, inventive, modern – and simply never cease to surprise. It’s surely no wonder that critics from the prestigious Michelin Guide have awarded his contemporary French cuisine one Michelin star, as well as one Michelin green star for sustainability.

Despite being born in Hamburg, Germany, chef David Goerne fell in love with French cuisine. After having worked at excellent restaurants in Paris, he decided to settle in Normandy where he now runs a small castle where he welcomes gourmets at his table: Restaurant G.A in Manoir de Rétival.

Restaurant G.a.’s cuisine

At Restaurant G.a. in Manoir de Rétival, you can choose between the table d'hôte menu or the degustation menu. Top chef David Goerne, who is also the in-house sommelier, will make sure that your courses will be paired with the right wines. On the menu, you’ll discover tasty specialties, including a delicious salad with vegetables from the chef’s garden, as well as lobster with lobster jus and chives. For dessert, we highly recommend the outstanding tarte tatin with Granny Smith sorbet.
