Martina CarusoAs a child, chef Martina Caruso was surrounded by the aromas of the great Italian dishes, which her father Michele Caruso, a self-taught chef, would prepare at the family restaurant, Signum. Martina decided to enroll in hotel school and to work alongside her father in the kitchen during the summer holidays.

Signum’s cuisine
At restaurant Signum, chef Martina Caruso serves Mediterranean dishes that take inspiration from tradition, but without sacrificing innovation. Martina is the youngest chef to ever be awarded a Michelin star and her excellent cuisine draws gourmets from far and wide. Specialties on the menu include the excellent red shrimp with bloody mary, fruit and salted lemon; and the half paccheri with squid, tumapersa and crunchy chard. The wine cellar houses a number of bottles that come from all over Italy, as well as from numerous other regions located in Europe. The collection contains a wide range of vintages, with a special emphasis on smaller producers, as well as natural and biodynamic wines.
