In Marche-en-Famenne, Belgium, a beautifully renovated townhouse is home to an excellent fine-dining destination: restaurant La Gloriette. This gourmet restaurant opened its doors in 2002. It was founded by chef Olivier Bauche and his wife Véronique Bauche-Fauvarque, who is a skilled sommelier. Chef Olivier serves modern French cuisine that’s creative and contemporary. Thanks to its great price-pleasure ratio, the prestigious Michelin Guide honoured the restaurant with a Bib Gourmand. You can enjoy the chef’s culinary delights in the paired-down dining area, furnished with wooden floors, cognac-coloured chairs and fuchsia accents. If the weather is pleasant, you can also wine and dine on the garden terrace.

Restaurant La Gloriette offers various French specialties by chef Olivier Bauche, such as his seared foie gras with cherries and tarragon; and fillet of Simmenthal beef, with gnocchi sautéed in mushroom sauce and seasoned with soy sauce. Diners with a sweet tooth surely won’t be able to resist the chef’s Dame Blanche, made with vanilla from Madagascar. You can order dishes à la carte or choose one of the 3-, 5- or 7-course menus including the special JRE Discovery menu. The in-house sommelier, Véronique Bauche-Fauvarque, will ensure a great food-wine pairing.

Restaurant La Gloriette is situated in the city of Marche-en-Famenne, Belgium. This city is nestled between the Famenne region and the Ardennes, which makes it a great starting point if you want to explore the area. The city center is filled with 17th-century buildings and characteristic alleys, which makes it perfect for a stroll. Some of the city’s highlights include the Famenne & Art Museum and the beautiful Château Van der Straten. The nature reserve of Fond des Vaulx is also worth a visit, especially if you enjoy nature or outdoor sports. The site offers 15 hectares of impressive flora and fauna, as well as numerous hiking, cycling and mountain bike trails.

Adjacent from restaurant La Gloriette lies the owners’ 3-star hotel. Ideal if you wish to turn your dinner into a gastronomic getaway. The modern accommodation is stylishly furnished and offers six guest rooms with a private bathroom, Wi-Fi, and mini bar.
