Dutch JRE-Chefs in the Spotlight during Gault&Millau 2026

Last Monday afternoon, 9 February, was all about the Gault&Millau award ceremony: a day filled with wonderful awards and special recognition for Dutch gastronomy. We are proud to share the highlights of this festive day.

Young Chef of the Year

During the award ceremony, JRE chef Sofiane Bons from Joelia in Rotterdam received a well-deserved award. He was honoured with the title Young Chef of the Year. A special congratulations to him for this wonderful recognition of his talent, vision and craftsmanship.

Score increases

In addition, we celebrated several impressive score increases for JRE restaurants:

  • 17 points for Spetters, Breskens – Laurent Smallegange

  • 15 points for STEEF., Leeuwarden – Stefan Visser

  • 14.5 points for Tante Kee, Kaag – Kim Edwards & Raymond Reeb

  • 14 points for Bakboord, Almere – Patty van der Meer

  • 14 points for Éclusier, Bloemendaal – Michelle Leone & Yorick de Groot

  • 14 points for Rura, Roermond – Naomi Haberts & Joey Remie

  • 13.5 points for Lazuli, Enschede – Marijn Waanders & Tim Staal

Featured in the Gault&Millau Guide

At the end of the day, the new Gault&Millau guide was handed out to all guests. This guide includes restaurants awarded 16 to 19.5 points.
