Fahr’s Cuisine

Riding solo on the other side of the tracks in terms of cuisine, the food at Fahr plays casually with the conventional, toys with the traditional and favours freedom of flavour combinations. Due to the restaurant’s rather remote location, the food really does have to do the talking and the extensive menu certainly does more than hold a casual chat. Think carrot macarons filled with apple and goat cheese or perhaps a pickled fillet of beef with blackberry cream, pickled, cooked and flamed onions and peanuts. Outlandish as these combinations may seem, there is a beautiful harmony created by the delicate use of these flavours that just works - and works well. For those with a slightly more “conventional” palette, the meat dishes are not to be missed and are all cooked to such a high standard that one would be forgiven for overlooking the more adventurous aspects of the menu.
