The keys to excellence: JRE Hotels shine at the Michelin Keys

In April 2024, the MICHELIN Guide introduced a new distinction: the MICHELIN Key, which recognizes hotels that stand out for their exceptional service, superior comfort, and outstanding guest experience. Several JRE-Jeunes Restaurateurs hotels across Europe have been honored with this prestigious award.

The first Michelin Key galas have taken place in various European countries where JRE is present, with JRE-Hotels in Germany, Austria, and Spain among the honored establishments. We congratulate these hotels for their never-ending passion and commitment to delivering the finest in hospitality and service.

JRE-Germany

The establishments run by JRE members in Germany include the hotel “Widmann's Alb.leben” by Andreas Widmann in Königsbronn-Zang, the “Söl’ring Hof” by Jan-Philipp Berner on Sylt and the “Hotel Kronelamm” (Bad Teinach-Zavelstein), which belongs to the family of Franz Berlin, who works there as head chef in the gourmet restaurant “Berlins Krone”, as well as the “Boutique-Hotel Blaue Burg Falkenstein” (Pfronten) with the hotel’s own gourmet restaurant “PAVO”, which is run by JRE member Simon Schlachter, and the “Birkenhof” with the restaurant “Obendorfers Eisvogel” by Sebastian Obendorfer – both also family businesses. Also awarded were the Dresden hotel "Bülow Palais", where JRE Membre d'Honneur Ralf J. Kutzner is the Managing Hotel Director, and the "Villa Mittermeier" (Rothenburg ob der Tauber) and the "Schloss Eberstein" in Gernsbach by JRE Membres d'Honneur Christian Mittermeier and Bernd Werner respectively.

The "Söl'ring Hof" on Sylt and the "Bülow Palais" in Dresden stand out in particular, as they were each awarded two Michelin Keys. The “Kronelamm”, “Widmann’s Alb.leben”, the “Boutique-Hotel Blaue Burg Falkenstein” and the “Villa Mittermeier” were each awarded a Michelin Key.

"We are incredibly proud of the great achievements of our members. These awards show that our hospitality does not end at the restaurant door."

President, JRE-Germany

JRE-Austria

In Austria 2 keys have been awarded to the Falkensteiner Schlosshotel Velden in Carinthia, home of the Seespitz restaurant and 1 key was awarded to Lech am Arlberg: Burg Vital Resort, home of the Griggeler Stuba restaurant.

JRE-Spain

Monument Hotel, home to the renowned 3-Michelin-star restaurant Lasarte, was awarded 1 MICHELIN Key.

While the MICHELIN Star recognizes the most outstanding restaurants in the world, the MICHELIN Key does the same for outstanding hotels.
