Michael Oettinger is chef and owner at Oettinger's Restaurant in Hotel Hirsch. He began his culinary career as an apprentice in the kitchen of his parents' establishment, Hotel Hirsch. Afterward, he worked in restaurants across the country, including Burgrestaurant Staufeneck Salach and Hotel Louis C Jacob. In 2005, after further developing his culinary skills, Michael took over the management of Oettinger's Restaurant together with his brother Martin. It didn’t take long before Michelin awarded him a coveted star for his culinary achievements.

In the friendly and relaxed country-house-style ambiance of Oettinger's Restaurant, you can savour chef Michael Oettinger’s delicious dishes. Working with high-quality ingredients, the chef presents set menus, including one vegetarian menu. Expect contemporary French-inspired cuisine, as well as creative rural dishes. Regularly, you can also find meat-based delights such as veal broth, veal heart, or oxen tail. Among the chef’s specialties are crustacean bouillabaisse with turbot, scallop, and Norway lobster; and the back and braised shoulder of lamb with thyme jus, beans, and gratinated potatoes. Those with a sweet tooth can enjoy lovely desserts such as white chocolate with mango, purple shiso, and coconut.
Oettinger's Restaurant and Hotel Hirsch are located in Fellbach, a mid-sized town in the state of Baden-Württemberg. With over 1500 hours of sunshine per year, this state proudly holds the German record. Popular excursion destinations in the area include the beautiful university town of Tübingen with its medieval townscape and 16th-century castle. The nearby city of Freiburg is known for its famous "Bächle", the narrow waterways in the alleys of the old town. Germany’s largest lake, Lake Constance, is also nearby and extremely popular for hiking, sailing, and cycling.
