Black&White Magic: JRE-Slovenia's Annual Gathering
In Celje, the Black & White evening took place, a traditional event organized by JRE-Slovenia, providing an annual opportunity for its members, supporters, and journalists to meet and socialize over top-notch cuisine and drinks. This year, two new members were welcomed into the fold - Posestvo Monstera and bistro Afr.
Never-ending passion
The selected venue for this year's JRE gala event, traditionally marked by a black-and-white dress code, was Celjski dom. Accompanied by modern audio-visual production and a thoughtfully curated program, we indulged in the culinary masterpieces of the chefs, reuniting with old friends and meeting new ones.
The event also rekindled memories of the 50th-anniversary congress held this year in Paris, attended by a significant Slovenian delegation. On this occasion, congratulations were extended once again to Nina Bratovž (JB Restaurant), who received the prestigious "Sommelier of the Year 2024" award from the international JRE association.
New Additions to the Gastronomic Family
The evening continued with the induction of two new restaurants into JRE-Slovenia, bringing the total membership to 26. Joining this time were Posestvo Monstera and Ljubljana's bistro Aftr (a returning member).
Culinary delights were provided by JRE members: Hiša Linhart, Galerija okusov, JB Restaurant, Miza za štiri, Rizibizi, Posestvo Monstera, Afr, Gostilna Rakar, Gostilna Repovž, and Gostilna Rajh. Wine pairings were offered by the winemakers of Wine stories 2024: Medot, Ajster – Pekel, Sanctum, Herga, Zaro, and Fervin. We eagerly anticipate the next gathering and a new culinary year with JRE!
On this occasion, JRE-Slovenia also launched a new product - JRE sparkling wine, which we created together with our long-term partners Radgonske Gorice. Nina Bratovž, the JRE Sommelier of the Year, wrote the following about the JRE sparkling wine:
