Simon Goyens

As a young boy, chef Simon Goyens already couldn’t withhold his curiosity for cooking. Marveling at his mom in the kitchen, his love of gastronomy was born. After studying at the hotel school in Hoogstraten, Simon learned the finesse of cooking from chefs like Frank Fol, Chris Bresseleers, and Felix Alen. Together with his spouse Leen, he embarked on a catering and home cooking adventure 12 years ago. This sparked his hunger for high-end cuisine even more and eventually resulted in opening his own gourmet restaurant L’ oh.

A building that once housed a clog factory is now home to a gourmet hotspot: L’ oh. Here, you can enjoy outstanding contemporary cuisine with a classic twist. Scoring 14 Gault Millau points, chef Simon Goyens excels at creating uncomplicated yet refined dishes. At the heart of L’ oh’s menus are local flavours and pure, home-grown products. Goyens’ colourful creations are beautifully complemented by spouse, maître and host Leen Weckhuyzen’s wine selection.
