Dominik Georg Utassy

Dominik was born and raised in Bad Aussee, traveled far and wide and then grounded his kitchen foundation back home. He did his apprenticeship at the post office in Lech before moving to Singapore and from there to Alfons Schuhbeck's kitchen in beautiful Munich. His most formative influence in the kitchen, however, was Alfred Friedrich, with whom he first made the kitchen hot at Tigerpalat and then at Lafleur in Frankfurt. He spent 6 years there and learned a lot, which is reflected in the kitchen today. “Fredl is my great mentor” says Dominik. 2024 Awarded with 4 toques in Gault Millau.

The Geiger-Alm has really remained an alpine pasture. Visually at least. From hut to hood. Nestled in one of the most beautiful cultural landscapes in Austria, the Geiger Alm lies at the foot of the Sandling and Loser. That precious salt mountain to which the Ausseerland owes its wealth over the centuries. The alpine character creates a very cozy, almost living room-like atmosphere. Culinary excellence is on offer here with Eva and Dominik Utassy, two well-traveled restaurateurs responsible for the kitchen and cellar. He is a Michelin-starred top chef who presents his creations here, while she is a trained sommelier from the best restaurants and current winner of the Gault Millau Service Award.
