From a young age on, owner Remco Vermeulen has been working in the hospitality industry. He already knew from the start that this was his true passion. After finishing the hotel school in Apeldoorn, he started working on cruise ships. After this, he joined the team at restaurant Fort Nassau on the island of Curaçao. Upon his return to the Netherlands he continued his career at Hotel Inntel in Zutphen. Here, the desire for his own company starts to grow. In 1995, the time finally comes, and Remco and his partner Hanneke become the proud owners of hotel and restaurant Hoog Holten. The fine-dining spot has been a member of the Jeunes Restaurateurs for more than 20 years, and Remco has been a board member and chairman for many years.
