At restaurant Berlins Krone, Franz Berlin is chef de cuisine. He’s the eldest son of master chef and pastry chef Rolf Berlin and hotel manager Gudrun Berlin. Hence, it’s no surprise that he developed such a strong love for cooking and gastronomy. Franz trained to be a chef at the Bad Hotel Bad Teinach under chef Thomas Klink. After that, he continued learned at Michelin-starred restaurants, such as restaurant Adler (Häusern), restaurant Jörg Müller (Sylt) and restaurant Jörg Sackmann (Baiersbronn). In 2011, at the age of 28, Gault Millau rated his creations with 17 points. Two years later, his skills and finesse were also recognized by the prestigious Michelin Guide, which awarded him with a long-awaited star. Restaurant guide Gusto quickly followed and honoured chef Franz Berlin’s cooking with 7.5 pans. Using only the best regional ingredients, chef Franz Berlin and his kitchen team simply always succeed in delivering surprising delights for the palate.
