Growing up in a hotelier family, cooking has always been in chef Jörg Sackmann’s blood. Jörg trained with chef Harald Wohlfahrt from 1977 to 1982. After that, he went to the Maître restaurant (Berlin, 1982), Brenners Parkhotel (Baden-Baden, 1984), and the Aubergine (Munich, 1986). Two years later, chef Jörg made his way back to his family’s establishment, Hotel Sackmann. After managing the hotel’s Silberberg restaurant, he was ready for the next step in his culinary career and opened the doors of his very own restaurant, Schlossberg. Soon after the opening, his restaurant received one Michelin star. In 2013, his talented son Nico Sackmann joined Schlossberg’s kitchen team as a chef. Chef Jörg has regularly appeared as a chef in the daily TV program ARD Buffet, which has further contributed to his celebrity chef status.
