Chef Alexander Ruhland took over the management of the restaurant from his mother Pia. From a young age, he already knew he wanted to work in the kitchen and consistently pursued his culinary career. He trained under chef Christian Henze in restaurant Probstried and received an award for his 'outstanding' skills. After this, Alexander joined several kitchens in high-end establishments under well-known chefs throughout the country. His extensive resume includes working with chef Hans Haas in Tantris, with Romeo Hofer in Schloss Lautrach, and with Karl Ederer in restaurant Ederer.
The Landgasthof Löwen restaurant is located in Oberopfingen, a town in the German state Baden-Württemberg. Here in the Allgäu region, the cozy inn of the Ruhland family has been around for over a hundred years. In the kitchen, young talented chef Alexander Ruhland continues his family’s culinary tradition, with excellent regional cuisine, to which he skilfully adds a slight international twist. His dishes were awarded with a Bib Gourmand and continue to draw gourmets from near and far.
